Virtual Assistant Tips

My tips for working with a virtual assistant.

Last week we talked about it my top three places to find a virtual assistant.  If you need inspiration or resources, watch it! I also talked about the BEST virtual assistant place I have found to date—myself and clients can attest it is truly the best, offering managed and incredible support.

Now that you will know where to find your assistant, comes the real question: what do they do? And how can you maximize their time and ouptut?

That is the fun part. In my course, I go through an extensive template that works with my clients to narrow down the tasks that they are either not good at or don’t like. Some of them are vital to their business and still needed. So we see if we can automate these tasks and eliminate them. And after these two we then outsource!

We usually hire someone virtually first, especially if it is assistant type duties, which can include tons of things! We list out all of these tasks.

Stop for a second and take five minutes just write down things you do everyday and every week that take your time and energy. They need to be done but you don’t like doing them or you are not good at them.

Now look at this list. Cross out any items that you don’t need to do for your business. Then put an A next to anything that could be automated. Now you should have a bunch of tasks that an assistant can do!

It is important to further break down these tasks to them give more direction, or process, for the assistant to work with. Remember, the more initial direction, the better the results. In weeks two through five in my course, we are constantly updating the processes and ensuring that all tasks have a description and flow. And this is gold for the efficiency of your team now and in the future.

The last step is to fully integrate the virtual assistant. Onboard them like anyone else. Tell them about you, your products/service, culture, goals and how important the work is they are doing. Include them in team meetings and make them a true team player and you will be amazed at the long-term support you will get from them. Not all will work out but that is also part of the learning.

I do suggest trying out the company I am now working with to get virtual assistants on board that are skilled, have the equipment needed, and are ready to be the best. So if you want to get the exclusive offer to work with this virtual assistant team, book a call with me first. You need to go over all the tasks, as they need this to be organized before they can get on a call and review your needs. This way, you will make sure we don’t waste any time and get you prepared before your assistant hits your team.

Plus for extra productivity use my time cube.
